Tuesday November 5: “Bishop Walkabout”

In November, we will forego our usual Theology on Tap to participate in the Bishop Walkabout conversation at 6pm November 5 at Trinity Church in the Central West End.

Anyone who would like is welcome to join the Rev. Mike Angell for a beverage at Dressel’s after the walkabout to talk about the bishop election.

Join us for a conversation with Eden Seminary’s Dr. Adam Ployd as we discuss the relationship between Theology and Star Wars. Ahead of the premiere of “The Rise of Skywalker,” we talk about the Force, Jedi powers, and the theological implications of the Star Wars mythology. May the Force be with you!

Tuesday August 6: “Faith and Reproductive Justice”

Missouri has been in the national news as “pro-life” advocates have pushed for new laws and policies that may make us the first state in the union with no clinic offering abortion services. While regarding all abortion as having a “tragic dimension,” since before Roe v. Wade The Episcopal Church has advocated for reproductive choice in local, state, and national policy. Join our rector and Dr. David Eisenberg of Missouri Planned Parenthood in a conversation about faith and reproductive justice.

Tuesday June 4: “Faith, Pride, and the Trans Community”

For Pride month, we host a conversation about faith, gender identity, and what it means to be an ally with our trans siblings. Sayer Johnson, Director of the Metro Trans Umbrella Group will be our speaker. (MTUG has just been named the Grand Marshall of this year’s Pride Parade).

Tuesday May 7: “Better Together?”

What would it mean to unite the city and county? Join a conversation about the “Better Together” proposal. We’ll hear from representatives from the campaign, and from the Hon. Joe Adams, who is part of an alternative plan called the “Freeholders Proposal.” The months are shaping up to be contentious in St. Louis as various proposals are weighed surrounding the merger. Join us for a wide ranging conversation about the plans to unite city and country.

November 1: “Housing and Homeless ness” with Dr. Adam Pearson
